For You
In July 2018, the Lincoln School Model UN community lost a
very valuable member, Salvatore Traversone. He would be
graduating with the class of 2020 and was a very active MUN
member. He is remembered by his passion for bees, debate,
and Game of Thrones.
Sometimes I find it hard to believe just how quickly life
passes us by. And when life goes by so quickly, it's easy to
forget how to live. I have not been the first person to struggle
with this, and I will not be the last. But if there's one person
who inspires me to live my life at its fullest, it's Salva. He had a
way of looking at life that was bright and bubbly and
completely different from everyone else. He did whatever he
felt like doing because it was what would make him happy. And I know for a fact that it is because of him that I have tried my best to live life to its fullest potential these last couple of years. Salvatore was an inspiration to everyone he met, and even though he may not be with us physically, he shines brighter than any star out there.
I am so lucky to have been able to call him my best friend, and I am grateful of everything he has taught me. He was the person who
taught me how to be curious, and question everything around me. Salva was also the person who lifted me up my feet at the beginning of my Model UN career and told me not to give up. I looked up to him for so many years, and now, more than ever, I simply want to make him proud.
And just like he has inspired me to live my life, he has helped inspire all of our 2020 Steering Committee to make the best conference possible. Why? Because that is what Salvatore would have expected of us. And I hope that you -- yes you -- find it in you to try your best this year. To not just be a better delegate, but to live your life the best way you can. Because that's what he would've wanted. Pease make him proud, by living.

En julio de 2018, la comunidad de MUN Lincoln School perdió a un miembro muy valioso, Salvatore Traversone. Se graduaría con la clase de 2020, y era un miembro muy activo de MUN. Salva es recordado por su pasión por las abejas, el debate y Game of Thrones.
A veces me cuesta creer lo rápido que nos pasa la vida. Cuando la vida pasa tan rápido, es fácil olvidar cómo vivir. No he sido la primera persona en luchar con esto, y no seré la última. Pero si hay una persona que me inspira a vivir mi vida al máximo, es Salva. El tenía una forma de ver la vida que era brillante, burbujeante y completamente diferente de los demás. Hizo lo que quería hacer porque era lo que lo haría feliz. Yo sé con certeza que es gracias a él que he hecho todo lo posible para vivir la vida a su máximo potencial en estos últimos años. Salvatore fue una inspiración para todos los que conoció, y aunque ya no esté con nosotros físicamente, brilla más que cualquier estrella.
Soy muy afortunada de haber podido llamarlo mi mejor amigo, y estoy agradecida por todo lo que me ha enseñado. Él fue la persona que me enseñó a ser curiosa y cuestionar todo lo que me rodea. Salva también fue la persona que me levantó al comienzo de mi carrera de Modelo de las Naciones Unidas y me dijo que no me rindiera. Lo admiré durante tantos años y ahora, más que nunca, simplemente quiero que se sienta orgulloso.
Al igual que él me ha inspirado a vivir mi vida, ha ayudado a inspirar a todo nuestro comité directivo 2020 para hacer la mejor conferencia posible. ¿Por qué? Porque eso es lo que Salvatore hubiera esperado de nosotros. Y espero que tú lo encuentres en ti para dar lo mejor de ti este año, no solo para ser un mejor delegado, sino para vivir tu vida de la mejor manera posible, porque eso es lo que él hubiera querido. Enorgullézcalo – viviendo.
